You can put the stress of daily life behind you when you get to the B&B. The quiet and calm village of Caralte has preserved the charm of a typical mountain village dating to the Middle Ages and offers the full range of entertainment activities and opportunities for relaxation. There’s a host of great trips to take from here but that’s not all. There are a great many activities too.
The village of Caralte di Cadore, founded in the Middle Ages, is only 5 minutes away from the historic town of Pieve di Cadore where the celebrated artist Titian was born, 30 minutes from famous Cortina D’Ampezzo and Auronzo di Cadore, 40 minutes from Comelico, Sappada and Val Zoldana and approximately an hour from romantic Venice. The Cadore area includes Auronzo, Santo Stefano and San Vito. B&B La Genzianella is in a quiet and relaxing location.

By plane
The main international airport is Venice Marco Polo which is about 110 kms away. Treviso (100 km) and Verona (238 km) are also nearby. A bus service links us with Venice Marco Polo airport and the train stations of Venice and Mestre. For times and fares see the www.cortinaexpress.it website.
From the south
By car
From Venice take the motorway towards Belluno, the A 27.
Exit at Pian di Vedoia and follow signs for Cortina D’Ampezzo on SS 51 Alemagna for approx. 20 km through 4 tunnels. After the fourth tunnel turn right for Caralte and Perarolo di Cadore and follow the signs to the B&B.
By train
From the stations of Venice-Mestre or Padova there are frequent trains for Calalzo both direct or changing in Ponte nelle Alpi or Belluno.
By bus
Arriving in Belluno or Ponte nelle Alpi, several buses depart in the direction of Cortina d’Ampezzo or Calalzo. The bus stop is about two hundred metres from the B.&B.
From the north
By car
Take the A22 Brenner pass motorway and the Bressanone-Val Pusteria exit and then follow the SS49 road. Take the SS49bis/SS49 following signs for Dobbiaco. Then follow the SS51 towards Cortina D’Ampezzo, Pieve di Cadore and Venice. When you get to Tai di Pieve di Cadore follow signs for Belluno for 5 km, turn right to Caralte and Perarolo di Cadore and follow the signs to the B&B.
By bus
There are frequent buses from Cortina D’Ampezzo towards Belluno.
There’s a bus stop approx. 200 metres from the B&B.
